After 10 years with Scottish gas I'm going to work for a local firm and need to replace my crappy sg hand tools. Anyone recommend grips and adjustables. Don't mind paying for quality as long as it's not stupid money. Any recommendations gratefully appreciated.

Rothemberger grips. I live mine. I also just got a couple of wide jawe'd adjustables, I was going to go for the bahco ones but ended up grabbing the monument ones from plumbcenter and have to say I'm very impressed.

Ive got bacho adjustables and 3 pair of Rothenberg grips and a set of Irwin big grips, no complaints

Bahco grips for me and 10" and 8" bahco wide jaws for my adjustables. I do have some rothenberger adjustables but find them too thick

Bahco adjustables wide jaw, Knipex grips. Of all the grips ive tried the knipex are the best ive had.

Bahco adjustibles, knipex alligator 6" and 10" grips and crescent large (12"?) channel lock grips.

I always try use the bahco's, I never feel confident tightening with grips , perhaps I should by some knipex.
As an ex motor mechanic, IMO you need a spanner , it gives you a good 'feel' that somethings tight.
