Only showing temp setting on right and 2 dots on left (presume they're the dots between where the time would be)
Changed batteries twice
Pressed reset and a time (11:00) very briefly displays when you first release, but then disappears.
Followed instructions to set the date-nothing
Is it possible that the PROG button's not working?

Wasn't communicating with the unit under the boiler at first, but sorted that so now at least using up/down buttons does switch heating on/off, although it's "strange"
This am pretty cool in the house but had to turn it up to 19c to get the boiler to fire, but then it switched off and flame sign on stat not showing after 5 mins and rad's were barely warm.
Increased to 20c-same thing
21c seemed to do the trick, but it took at least 20 mins before the boiler fully fired up and got the circulating water temp up to 70c and radiators got hot. Before that it was hovering around 50c.
New house and not familiar with the boiler either. It's a Vaillant eco tec . Just been serviced by prev owner and have paperwork .
Operating pressure is fine.
Hot water is fine.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers Gasmk1. New one already on the cards. If we get the same model, will it pair up OK with the receiver unit (is that the correct term?) under the boiler or will we have to get that changed? Saw the Vaillant stat's on their site . Will have a look.
