Hi guys first off let me explain current system.

We currently have a worcester greenstar 28i combi boiler installed in a 3 bedroom semi which feeds 7 radiators plus kitchen sink and bathroom suite plus 2 towel radiators in bathroom. This boiler is approx 6 years old. We also have an electric shower installed in the bathroom.

Now here's the problem.....

I would like to eliminate the hot water flow problems that we are experiencing due to installing the combi boiler in the first place. So that we could have more than one outlet running at a time, and dare I say manage to fit a thermostatic mixer shower.

Now for the question........

what would be the best solution a complete new install that's fit for purpose or would an unvented cylinder run alongside the combi boiler? With possibly installing a cold water tank in the loft for the cold water feed for upstairs? Would also be considering installing underfloor heating under a tiled bathroom floor but this could be electric if need be and covered with a sealant.

Many thanks in advance guys and not to worry as at this stage I'm just looking for suggestions, all work will be carried out by a professional.

Out put is only as good as the input, do you know what size your incoming cold mains is? the pressure and flow rate of said mains, the more info your armed with the more informed decision you will make

What you said in principle, keeping the combi and using an unvented, is possible

Thanks for swift reply.

15mm into water meter. But don't know prior to that as property was extended and not sure what supply is from mains outside property is, is there an easy way to find out??

You need someone who knows how to use a pressure gauge and weir gauge. Who also has g3 and so can advise you of your best options.

Unvented installs aren't a diy job!

Thanks for your reply but you obviously never read my OP properly I'm well aware it's not a DIY job that's why I stated that it will be installed professionally. So thanks for stating something I was obviously well aware of rather than helping me out on what I'd actually asked!!!

but thanks for taking the time to reply anyway!!!!!

We tend to get alot of posts stating the use of a professional but with the full intention to do it themselves so we reinforce the need for a qualified engineer to carry out work.

croppie would have read your entire post so please don't assume he didn't.
he's an old dog at giving advice 😉

get an engineer to look at your flow and pressure with the possibility of upgrading the mains, that would be my first step and ask for an engineer with g3 for unvented. Its best to have one guy do all the work.

p.s that was rather rude towards croppie.

Well in that case I apologise to croppie, but I felt it was an unnescasary comment to make when I'd already stated I was gonna use a professional. Especially given that I haven't asked for specifications rather whether its possible!

Once again people thanks for your help!!

And croppies answer is the answer to weather its a possibility or not ! You need to know the flow rate and pressure etc for starters

Next post like that to me or anyone on the UKPF will be your last.

You've been given the advice applicable to your problem. Take heed of it!

And thanks guys!
