Hi everyone
Recently had a 30 year old floor mounted glow worm boller replaced with a worcester 30cdi regular wall mounted in garage all existing pipe work used with some modifications. Question is plumber has fitted a aerjec on flow just below boiler as new Grundfos pump just below aerjec is pumping down in a loop then up to honeywell valves and auto bypass it's a S plan system but am getting regular ticking and vibration noise from pump, aerjec instructions says to be mounted on flow above boiler? All connections to it are correct but seems air is entering somehow. Pump has 90% elbows either side isolating valves. Have added picture in reply.

If you post a pic up of the arrangement we can take a look and understand better.

Get the installer back to fit the unit in the place stated by the manufacturer,...i take it the system pipe work is as old as the boiler was ?

Did,nt go for a system boiler in case of leaks in old pipe work, aerjec in back corner cold feed and vent just above honeywell valves then up through airing cupboard into loft. Does this look right folks.

Did,nt go for a system boiler in case of leaks on 33 year old pipe work also very low water pressure area 1.5 bar max.

I would have scrapped the air jec & gone for a regular feedv& vent before pump on this set up... But will see what everyone else says lol!

I think its best to have straight pipe before and after pump too, not putting a street 90 bend directly after the pump...

I think the noises are more to do with the tight bends around the pump than the airjec. There's probably going to be all sorts of cavitation going on.

Could it not be a bit of solder? Ticking noise being caused by solder clicking against impeller

The config looks ok to me, looks like he didn't have much space to work in. Get him back to have a look

Thanks for the reply

aerjec was fitted because Grundfos says in situations where pump is pumping downwards air separator must be fitted.
cheers Dave

Thanks will check for any solder in impeller

It is not for you to check for any solder in impeller? Call him back and tell him what you think and let him check it. Once you start fiddling about with ''his'' installation, you exempt him from any responsibility. GET HIM BACK

The heating engineer will regret re-using the old pump valves if he has to check the pump impellor for that mysterious solder lol! I like new pump valves with a new boiler, possibly new motor valves too if the old ones are getting on...

a lot of installs I see done by BG leaves me confused. No attempt to change anything 'cept boiler? WTF. Considering the prices they charge, it's disgraceful.

Installation by trusted local plumber would never use BG at their prices, space was at a premium without removing upstairs carpets and flooring.
