New van time fancy a change

If your looking at Hindi look at nissan- same if not slightly better! Nv200 is next on our shopping lists.

I've had 8 trannies now. (Stop it ) never had anything but brakes, batteries and servicing. All did well over 125,000 miles.
best are Volkswagen and merc, but if they go wrong it'l cost.

Vauxhall, Renault and the others ate good but are worthless with any mileage.

Are any of them new Transits? How reliable have you found the new body shape versions?

I've been driving a Hyundai for the last couple of years (car, not van).

My experience of them is that the vehicle is great, but the dealer stinks. I wouldn't buy another one, solely because of that.

Left hand drive was 50p cheaper

Nissan nv200 is smaller than a vivaro or transporter. I looked into them, very good on fuel 1.5 diesel and not to flat on power. Feel a bit like postman pat when sat in it though. Engines are supposed to be very reliable but not a fancy van, does its job. Quite narrow which can be a bonus in the country lanes.

Had a VW transporter and a crafter both had problems, gearbox on transporter under warranty, lots under warranty on the crafter. The vw commercial dealer where I am is ****e though, just change parts and give you it back even when the light on the dash is still on driving out their carpark!

to be honest I don't think there is a single van that doesn't have problems? My next can will be a lease I think, give it back when the warranty is out. Generally you hear less issues with transporters than anyone else.

They all have their problems you can find a common fault with every van. I know someone with a fiat scudo with 140k on the clock and never had a thing go wrong , yet a mate of mine works in a commercial dealer garage and says they are THE most unreliable and problematic van that comes to them. I think its down to luck these days, you get a good'un or a complete nail.

We hire a lot of trucks - from a very astute operation. The owner tells me that some
of the citroen trucks we hire have the same engine as the transits that we also hire from them.

Not as good in cab but loads cheaper. Centralheatking
