Well week on Tuesday l'm booked in for my re-assessment. Not doing the 600 though, going to sub out all the tank work.
Had a bloke phone me this morning. Ex heating engineer, now works on jet engines, changed his own oil boiler but selling house and solicitor wants the building control bits 🙂 Well good old building control pointed him in my direction. So went out this morning, he thought I was going to sort it there and then. I explained that I had come to see the standard of installation and any remedial works.
So as i got out the van i first noticed the open condensate pipe dripping on the footpath. Then goes inside and opens the door to the boiler room. Notice the external tigerloop, thats not needed anyway, two flexis outside the boiler casing, no fire valve at point of entry, no earth bonding to oil line, no room stat, no by pass and every rad with a trv. Then i notice the unvented cylinder and tell him i hadnt seen it. Oil tank was dodgy as well.
He argued the toss about every point and i told him straight. So back out this coming Friday for an expensive days work 🙂
