Finished a combi conversion today. Got paid up by the developer, going back to comission next week. The client left earlier in the day leaving us to lock up. Electrician came in and wired the boiler and left.
At end of the day i notice that electrician has for some bizzare reason drilled a hole in top of boiler case to feed earthing cable through the boiler and out gromit at bottom to bond pipework. I rang him not impressed. Said he is going to have to pay for a new boiler etc. He gave me some sob story about his rising debt and insurance has run out blah blah. Begging me to put a metal plate over the hole he has drilled and sign it off.
Tbh i am not prepared to do this and will not comission the boiler in its current state. I am going to ring glowworm tomorrow before ringing the client to let them know the situation.
Question is: could this be repaired or would you insist it has to be a new boiler?
cheers in advance for advice.
