Hi. I think he did check all. The hob is less than a year old and we haven't changed anything.

This is what it look now as usual in the evenings. Still waiting for call back from him.

Normally, that kind of colour change ( I'm looking at the photos of course and not in the flesh ), would be caused by a slight reduction in combustion air, (or maybe an increase in pressure), or something else present which shows up the outer mantle of the flame, / makes it more luminous. Kozak above has mentioned nebulisers and I know you said no to that but is there anything else that you do in a morning that may effect it ?

I am intrigued with this post , I have not got a bloody clue , but cant wait untill we have the answer .

Another possibility is that Transco is allowed to vary the CV of the gas it supplies by range of about 15%.

Transco's CV webpage

If your hob was commissioned at at time when it was at the low end of the range and it was jacked up by Transco a week ago maybe...

If you're sure you haven't changed your habits, the change suddenly started happening on a specific day a week or so ago, and Bosch have checked the hob then maybe the finger of suspicion should begin to point at what's coming out of the gas main.

I am intrigued myself. Even the Bosch guy was. Still waiting to hear back from him and his technical department. He said long shot but might be there is some water in main gas and causes orangy flame in the mornings and as it burns away or dries up back to normal?

Today the flame was orange earlier around 6.30. I usually don't use the hob weekday mornings , only on the weekends but since last week have been keeping an eye on the timings.

There is no change in our habits and no new utensils etc. There was one video on youtube who said inked to humidifiers but I dont even have that downstairs. Perhaps its the humidity in the kitchen?

lets see

Update:
Got a call from Bosch engineer who said he has checked with his technical department and conclusions were:
1. It is safe
2. This at times can happen due to 'external factors.'

??- shall i call my gas supplier?

The inlet gas pressure at the meter needs to be measured when both the boiler and the hob are operating at full rate only a GSR or the gas supplier can do this , then it also needs to be measured at the appliance inlet aswell the boiler and the hob if there is more than 1mbar difference between the meter and the appliances then your supply pipework is undersized , each appliance has its own minimum safe working inlet pressure which is stated by the manufacturers instructions if your system falls below these then it needs addressing ,alot of the time fluctulations in the external supply pipework ie (external factors) as bosch state at certain times of the day mornings evening and weekends times of greatest demand is when these problems show up , post a picture of your gas meter so we can see your regulator and pipework please. i would still say you need a good GSR to gas rate each appliance if these are correct you have and you have a openable window or door direct to outside air in the kitchen and your kitchen is bigger than 5-10 m2 then you have done all you can , the only other option is replacing the hob hope this helps regards kop

Hi.

Anyone can recommend any good gas safe engineer north london area. I haven't called the gas company. Shall I call them up as well?

Thanks

If you not happy with what Bosch are telling you, you must get some one in to check the pipework . Read what King Of Pipes has replied , You can either find someone on here, or ring Gas Safe and they will supply you with details of engineers near to you or look on Gas Safe web site.
