Been a while since I've done any heating work tbh. How much would you charge to replace a circulating pump (easy to get to, in an airing cupboard with space all around), replace a HW motorised zone valve (in same airing cupboard) and a unvented cylinder thermostat plus the immersion heater? A neglected system shall we say. There are so many reasons why the boiler is not firing on this S-plan system!!

Wish i worked for myself sometimes. i'd get the whip cracked to be done in a day. The hardest part is if the immersion comes out nicely.

Days labour plus parts, wouldn't expect it to take a full day either unless the immersion is a pig.

I'm quoting £200 plus VAT plus the parts (inclduing adding system cleaner) in the first appointment. Another £200 plus VAT after to go back to drain down, remove and clean all 13 rads with mains pressure water and hose in garden then refill and add inhibitor. Total bill is coming in at around £900 inc. VAT. Just seemed a bit pricey but the quote went out tonight and they have accepted it already so it can't have been that bad.

£200 sounds quite cheap for washing out thirteen rads. But as long as your making what you want, fair play.

Remember there is 2 of us so that's 6.5 rads each. Will be done in half a day between 2 of us all being well. To be honest his wife has MS, he's just found out he has MS too. Their son is severely autistic and they are the only customers in 6 years who we've done a wetroom install for and a plastic pipe fitting has failed and ruined the decor on a ceiling and 3 walls in the house. The first plasterer we asked to come in did a **** job, hence me going on the plastering course. Now it's all done and he has to do the painting as we don't want to risk getting in someone bad (I'm paying for it).

I want to do it for a fair price to me but not the normal price I would charge to be honest as they have had an awful lot of crap luck.

It takes a lot for a Scotsman to offer a better than normal price but I can't believe how much their luck stinks to be honest.
