Evening all,

Not trying to pry into anyone's personal business, just trying to get a feel for what I should currently be charging. I'll explain a bit, bear with me on this.... 🙂

I mainly install fireplaces and gas fires and also service fires, both LPG and Nat Gas. I install a few cookers and do a limited amount of boiler servicing. I do a fair bit of sub contract installation work for retailers.

I need to have a look at my rates as I haven't changed what I charge in probably 5 or 6 years, we had the recession and things went quiet for a bit and so I didn't like to rock the boat but now things seem normal again and fuel, materials and VAT are costing more ( I'm not VAT registered so can't claim it back) and so I want to try and compensate for it a bit.

Any guidance so I can get a better feel for what's current and reasonable (Bucks, Oxon, Home Counties area), especially sub contractor rates would be very helpful, thanks....

180 is what my local fireplace center charges for a full marble fireplace install with electric fire. Gas fire would be alittle more. The whole 180 goes to the installer.

they make it up on hdmi cables ...

thieving ... a 2 quid one is as good as the 70quid ones they sell
