Dont think your gonna win this one, our D class covers an area 15 miles each side of our station to the next station either side of us. The fact that you will lose the station and the way in which you found out was a despicably badly managed set of circumstances and apologies are needed. The fleet of boats changes over the years and the boats now are much better in many ways than the ones of yore when the stations were first established, hence why the coastal survey gets done every few years to review the cover around the country. With ever rising costs, many companies would find it hard to justify running 2 bases within a couple of miles of each other nowadays. I would expect that the only action now availalbe to the St Abbs folks would be to take on the building and set up as a private charity themselves, much like other places have done over the years, sometimes they even get taken back into the fold later down the line.
