Would just like to say thanks to everyone who has helped me on here. I am slowly finding my feet in this difficult trade and on Friday I completed the most difficult job of my short plumbing career and for the first time I didn't call upon my more experienced friend to help me!! Might not seem like a lot to most but it's a massive step for me. Customer was delighted with my work, they have booked me in to do three more jobs for them over next few weeks in their other properties and I even got a tip!!! Just thought I would post something positive for a change and I am proof that you can actually win people's trust through hard work, honest pricing and not biting of more than you can chew! I am far from the finished article but slow and steady I get better with every job! Enough from me, hope you all have a cracking christmas and a busy winter, lee

Good on you. What was the job?

Bleeding a radiator ...

PlumbersMate - I'm only taking the micky. Good on you and hope you have the confidence to keep going. I found when I started I'd have 2-3 really good jobs then the next one would take me back a good step or two. Then another 2-3 jobs and think I'd cracked it, only for the next job to hit me in the teeth.

It's a big learning process but as long as you enjoy it and have the right attitude you'll do well.

It feels great when you notice improvements in earnings and customer satisfaction. Just remember that when something doesn't go to plan don't beat yourself up over it, it's bound to happen occassionally because no one is perfect. It's easy to let setbacks demoralise you but every plumber has been there before you.

Great news Lee. A nice happy post for a change. You cant beat a crispy note tip after a job! ( dont forget to declare it!)NOT!
Its a huge learning curve in this trade and mistakes will be made but the trick is to learn from them. Great to hear someone happy in their work.

Nice one lee, only another plumber will understand how good you are feeling right now. Have a great Christmas and best of luck for the new year.
