evening all, could one of you experienced guys explain the function of a potentiometer within a boiler, as ive not been registerd long if i find i dont know something id like to gain the kowledge of what something is/does.

hope this doesnt sound to thick, cheers

What are your thoughts? Potentiometers serve lots of different functions. Usually gradiant regulating of electrical signal to alter and adjust! IMO

was on an install and was getting weird fga readings and was told to adjust the potentimeter, didnt end up having to do it so never learned how to do it if you get me.

Yep ... potentiometer will alter the signal to the modureg which will increase the gas op pressure ... If that's what they were getting at? Used to set the system requirements, max op presssure for C/H etc.

The customer user controls are usually potentiometers!

thanks for that, thats the thing, waiting for front facia for a veissmann 200w combi, they sent the wrong one and am still awaiting the new one so couldnt do anything on the user control panel

Well that'll be a bit different coz it'll alter the fan speed to requirements ... that'll not make much difference fga wise unless it over rev's the fan? I'd imagine 🙂
