Radiator Plug Key

What do you guys use?

New radiator and the plugs to remove to install your new valves to.

(Plugs that protect the threads when the radiators are getting painted in factory)

Sometimes there that ceased on its a pain to get them out! Is there a key or anything about? Been using a wide slotted screwdriver these years

Smallish flat chisel, can get the adjustables on if needed. The stelrad ones are a real pain.

Thats the ones i mean simon! The stelrad lol yeah been using either the screwdriver or end of chisel.

Would of thought they would of made a key and even gave free within a large bulk pack

i just use a large flat head screwdriver

Half inch wood chisel. Perfect fit.

If they are plugs with a flange etc that stick out a bit, then hit them a tap with a claw hammer first to break their grip.

The flimsy ones I just grab with pliers and tug. the more solid ones a big screwdriver does it.

I've got a snapped 1/2" chisel that fits perfectly.

I bought a large flat screwdriver which pretty much spans the plug. Used to always have one plug that would just break leaving nothing left to grip to remove it.

I've got an ancient chisel that i snapped the end off. Just the job!
