rads upstairs not working

hi did a conversion remove b/boiler fitted combi as agreed with my mates customer he is g/safe the hot water working fine all the downstairs rads working ok there are four rads upstairs which only one is working all rads already have trv on about four years old am not sure if they are flow reverse ones or not but the other rads are not heating up just luke warm is it possible they used onje pipe system upstairs or not the guy said they were working before but never seen system working any ideals welcome many thanks inadvance

look for a non return valve on the risers to the upstairs rads , on old bbu it was often needed to stop the rads coming on via gravity.

have you checked for stuck trv valves ?? single pipe would still work , have you tried the obvious like turning downstairs off

hi removed the trv heads pins seems free but as said earlier not sure if there are flow reverseable the cust said about four years old many thanks

try tapping on the pins with your adjustable spanner fairly hard lots of times quickly , this should free upp any stuck seats , it does not matter about the flow at this time as all that will happen is you will get a chatter on closing , do,nt lift the pins just tap on them

Are the rads are needing balanced

Have you tried turning off all the ones that do work yet ? if this gets them working then you need to balance the system

did you connect straight on to the existing primarys?

found problem was pipework the downstairs was 2 pipe system up stairs was down in single pipe all working now thanks f help
