Doing up a Victorian house, which will eventually be a B&B, starting from scratch on heating and hot water system.

Everywhere I look (at work) are Remeha system boilers, I have been looking at the Remeha Avanta Plus 30s System Boiler,
which seem to tick all the boxes. I am however, a bit concerned that Baxis has taken them over who don't have such a good name.
Should I still go for the Remeha or for something else?

My plumber has mentioned Worcester, Vailliant, Glow-worm and Vokera (which not heard of before) but he has said its my choice.

Any advice would be welcome.

thanks, mickeysparks

Out of your list Vaillant, but that's just cause they are giving me a training day and free lunch soon 😉
Remeha... hmmm, pricey and pricey spare parts from my experience dude

I put in a few remeha avantas when they came over a few years back and am now going back to replace broken bits provided by heat team. However, heat team just sent me an ignitor, and gasket and ignitor probe. to achieve this I received a full service pack containg the probeand numerous other service items, a separate pack including a probe, a pack of 10 gaskets and the ignitor. So van topped up for now. Previously for another noisy heat only avanta I got heat exchanger complete, fan, 10 burner seals, 10 heat ex seals 10 fan seals etc etc. So impressed with their generosity but not with boiler servicability. 🙂 The boiler is still noisy as its the external pump, but customers wont pay to replace it!!

Actually its the other way round. BDR Thermea have taken Baxi over - its just for marketing reasons that they continue to use the names like Baxi, Potterton and Main - because the UK market is used to them.

To be honest, I think you are underselling Baxi. Pound for pound, and allowing for warranty deals, I would take a Baxi Duotec HE A against most mid-market boilers on the market at the moment, with the possible exception of the Ideal Logic Plus. Both Vaillant and Worcester make boilers which are better (IMHO) but at a significantly higher price point.

Thanks guys and thanks Ray for putting me right on who took who over. Then maybe Valiant or Baxis are an option. Will have a look today, then leave it to my plumber anyway. Ideal Logic Plus? See so many bad reviews then a heap of good ones......

Thanks again Mickeyspark

Logic plus is a beauty !

Thats what my plumber thought at my old house, but there are so many conflicting opinions.

Which I can understand, as we dont necessary see the advance companies make in their products.

Thanks for that.
