fitting salamander pump ct50 in the next few days.
the cylinder i`m taking the hot supply from has a top outlet but straight after the 3/4 iron it bends 90 deg.
should i change this pipework to go straight up for a bit and fit an s flange.
Also are s flanges worth the extra expense.
I`m also twinning the tanks in the attic but room is very tight and the new tank can only fit next to the old in an L shaped style. When i connect together with 28mm can i coonect into the side as apposed to the front or back.
thanks for help.

also just remembered there is no drain off on the cylinder so draining down will be very difficult

if your connecting at the top you dont have to drain the cylinder just the cold water tanks and even with out a drain off you can undo the connection on the top of the cylinder push a hose pipe in to the bottom and syphon it out

are essex flanges better than an s flange.
should i consider cutting into the side and fitting an essex flange or should i take the easy option and just fit the s on the existing top.
thanks for help

alot of manufacturers say not to use any but to tee in to the first section of horizontal pipe from the outlet and face the tee down

there is about 400mm of horizontal pipe between the T feeding the taps and the vent pipe and the cylinder outlet union.
how close should the T off be to the cylinder union.

where ever possible always install according to manufacturers instructions as to do otherwise may invalidate your warranty I dont see a problem regarding the tanks only remember to make sure its well supported because of extra weight and alter the outlets from the old tank to the new tank so as to avoid stagnation🙂regards turnpin

thanks
was going to blank off the 2 existing outlets the 22mm to the cylinder and the 15mm to the old shower and cut 2 new 22mm ones in tne new tank.
leaving the cold inlet and the overflow in the old.
so its ok to cut new ones into the side.

another question please
when i run the pipework from the pump back up into the loft along the attic and down into the ensuite.
I was going to put auto air vents near the final elbow going down to the ensuite, what are these like for leaking and is this necessary.
Also was going to run the cold from the tank to the pump in mostly 22mm plastic to avoid elbows or bends is this good practice.
thanks
