Hi,
We have the above boiler, not sure on the exact model type. I'm putting this on here as the two boiler engineers we've dealt with so far are not familiar with this boiler type. In hindsight 3-years ago I wish we'd put in something more standard.... Me and my partner have come to loathe our boiler, we've had plumbers come out to fix it - new circuit board and thermostat so far - spent about £500 and again it is not working properly!! When they come it seems to work fine, then 4-months later we're back to square one...
Our boilers pressure keeps dropping. If we go away and leave it for two weeks we usually top it back up and the pressure is fine [between 1-1.5], but if we turn on the central heating OR on it's own accord of been actively used for 2-3 weeks it then goes to needing topping up daily. Another thing is sometimes [but not always] when you are running hot water the boiler keeps cutting out - so water goes hot and cold, this is not exclusive to any particular tap. Finally our 'hot' water is not at all hot, luke-warm at best, we have to run the tap very slowly for anything like....which is awful to live with. The kitchen tap takes about 15 minutes to even reach any temperature like this. It's not very green - talk about water waste. If there is anything that might remedy the situation, my partner is not unfamiliar with plumbing work .... we have discussed things like expansion valve problems? Possibly the radiators need servicing, although my partner has bled them as the radiators have been here for some years we thought about cleaning them out. Suggestions please! Help us!
We've never had so many problems with a boiler, and I am not going to pay x more until I feel confident it is a long-term solution.... Thanks....
Fiona
