Second-guessing myself - opinions

Did a landlord cert yesterday, hob would not spark on one ring. No other problems with it. No FSDs. My thought was ID as gas can be just left on, unignited.

But then I thought well what about older hobs / cookers that don't have piezo ignition or FSDs by design? And a spark unit is not a safety feature so it can't be ID on that basis. And the hob doesn't have FSDs so it's not like the safety feature is not working..

Have I over-reacted? The landlord is a bit (lot) of a tw@ so that may have made me be a bit harsh? What do you reckon? I'm normally pretty confident with my classifications but this has got me wondering...

think a over reaction on your part not all hobs have a sparks pizo and if you can light hob and flame pic ok and when on low set it dont go out ye fine

As per Eric, a slight over reaction there on hob.
Light with lighter and if flame ok then at most it just a note at worst about faulty ignition.

Are you sure? There is no requirement for an ASD except in a flat ec, so how can it be NTCS?

He hadn't stated whether it was a flat or not, so if it was a flat it would be non-compliant to current standards. Which is what I said

Sorry, ATOG: I read it wrongly. Again and Again. It is like one of those pics which look different after you've blinked. Tried inserting commas etc, but still wrong readdable. IMO
