I recently installed two unvented cylinders together in a domestic house with a secondary hot water return everything was working fine for a month until the customer had their kitchen fitted (new sink) plumbed by the kitchen firm now the pipes are banging when the bronze pump is on .. Even when there is no taps in use there is a loud rhythmic banging it sounds like it could be the inlet valve ?? Any body had this problem before ??.. Thanks

Ther is only one suspect place where pipework might not be clipped but it's original and didn't make any noise in the previous month . And noise only occurs when pump is running ,turn it of no noise but slow hot water, cheers for your help

I have had this problem and have not been able to solve it. The problem has occured on at least 3 megaflow installs that I have done, which includes one in my own home and one for my bro-in-law.

I have tried removing spring loaded not return for flap type, clipping pipes with brass munsons, fitting larger and smaller bronze circulators.

However, I think it might be something associated with the megaflow baffle, which occilates with the dynamics of the system and creates a resonating pump rattle. If you turn the pump speed down, the noise reduces.

Some are worse than others, my bro-in-law disconneted his because it could be heard early in the mornings when the bronze circulator kicked in.

If you find a solution to this, please come back with your thoughts because we can all learn something here.
