Hi,

Just looking for a few ideas. Installing a focalpoint gas fire, the opening has a steel or iron frame which I need to somehow secure the firebox/frame to. I was thinking self tapping screws but wasnt sure if this would work - can anyone offer any ideas on this as it also need to support the front cover.

you will find this fire comes with a fixing kit using steel wires to the back of the fire, read mi,s and it will show you how to fix it,HTH

Oh dear, fixing kit has been binned, customer has obviously tried to put it together, anything else I could use? If not may try plugs or screws

Just ring up the manufacturers, tell them the fixing kit was not enclosed with the fire and they will send you a new pack. They would probably have guessed that you have chucked them away...it happens, better to fit it correctly than to do a diy job after all someone other than yourself may at a later date have to dismantle it for whatever reason. And it will only be you that knows how it's been installed..

in these days of blame culture etc the only way to fix the fire is with the supplied fixing kit, any modifications however designed could always be seen as a bodge, they binned the kit, tell them to get you a new one, why was the customer messing with the fire in the first place
