Has anyone installed or used the Sentinel System Filter? How does it compare to the SpiroTrap MB3?

Due to its smaller size it may be ideal for where we want to have it installed.

I asked my local Plumb centre manager if he'd had good reports on these and he said they haven't sold a single one 😱

I did notice the local Plumb Center had a fully stocked shelf of them too! Do you have any experience of the MB3 - I know it's still fairly new!

The MB3 is really just an a MB2 with an added magnet on the outside. Personally I wouldnt trust them. I prefer either a TF1 or a Magnaclean, that way you can see what you are catching, instead of just flushing it out with system pressure.

My preference would be the TF1 over the MagnaClean however, there isn't enough space to fit either under the boiler.

The local sentinel rep was in the merchants the other week and I had a bit of a look at one, seemed well made must be fitted on a vertical section of pipe. Cost is same as others give or tak a few quid. I wouldn't go out my way to try one though have been happy with magnacleans.

Tried 1 when they first came out a couple of years back. Didn't like it much and never fitted another.

I have recently purchased the sentinal system filter, because i was worried about leaks, i have not fitted it yet, i had a plastic inline water conditioner 2 years ago ,and it leaked all in my living room i was not a happy bunny i can say!!! ,since then ive replaced that for a brass inline filter. This that has put me of using plastic based products, it just my personal experiance, this things is solid brass, so hopefully should not present any problems, fingers crossed.

It would surprise you what is made of plastic these days including half the insides of your boiler.

Usually when I see posts like this where the poster has never said anything about anything before, I think it's a rep trying to sell their product. However in this case I hope it's not seeing as you misspelled Sentinel.
