Hi,
I am trying to clean out my Merlyn Truestone slate shower tray waste unit. I cannot see anyway to remove it to clean underneath.

I'm stuck trying to fish out debris which isn't working great.
Could anyone please advise if I can remove this or a better way to clean the debris?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply Shaun. I haven't, I was hoping to be able to remove everything and give it a proper clean.

I'll plunge it tomorrow, thanks.

Do you know if I can remove the waste system. Can't figure it out.

You can’t need to cut an access hole from below unless it’s on legs eg raised up off the floor

Cheers for the reply bud. That's a pity Shaun, I was hoping you wouldn't say that 😭

It's an access from below in the sitting room job. They definitely aren't self cleaning anyways 😂😂😂

If I plunge it and use drain clogged cleaner, will that damage the pipes if I use the ckeaner every 3 or 6 months to keep it clean?

No shouldn’t damage the pipes but I would question why it’s potentially blocking 6 months plus might not have enough fall on the waste pipe etc

I'll plunge it, put a bit of cleaner down it and keep an eye on it and see how long it takes to block up again.

Not worth the hassle/cost of opening up the ceiling in the sitting room.

Cheers for the advice Shaun and Happy New Year.
