Hi, we have 2 rads. where there is slight rusting visible around the silver nut around the bleed nipple. water is coming out but evaporates to leave a brown stain. Can I tighten nut...or will this need replacing? Do I need our usual plumber..or diy? thanks.

Sounds like the o ring has failed easy enough to do diy

Turn both rad valves off

Get a container and bleed rad until it stops

Take a plug out with a old towel below to catch any drips

Either replace the o ring or add some ptfe to the threads

Tighten the plug back in

And do the same for the air bleed

Close bleed screw if you haven't already done

Open both valves

Bleed rad

Check for leaks
