Ok so it's a complete new fix but using old cyl. Defo set it up as an S plan and run in the d2 while your on.

i am getting my mate in at the end of the week who is more experienced to wire up the s plan but i need to get everything in before he comes so all will be checked over,
but I've got my head round it now.
thanks to all the guys who helped.

i am re piping the heating system and installing new rads anyway and new boiler is going into a different location so all its all new pipework with new controls.

So it does need a new cylinder then !!! Once you start re-pipeing it is classed as a new system.

Please read the Part L compliance guide link I posted. If not sure then ask away but when you sign off the boiler with GS you are supposed to have your part L ticket & self cert it as being fully compliant with the Building Regs with notification going off to local Building Control.

Run in the d2? the boiler has blow off and hot water cylinder will have water expantion into cold tank.
what do you mean by "run the in d2 while your on"?

If at a later date they do go unvented then whilst everythings a mess run a couple of lengths of pipe under the floor for the future discharge.
