So...got called to this earlier on, the install looks a bitnof a mess but looking past that the system seems like quite a simple setup though i am failing to find a schematic for this particular type of thermal store where we have 4 immersers which all on would be producing 12kw and an open vented heatingnsystem going into an F&E.

Customer has no heating or hot water, i have found that each immersernis leaking from their seals and in turn they have dripped onto one another and tripped the electrics, not only that but the stat overheat switches have all reset and are not popping back in.

Has anyone dealt with this type of system before and could offer some advice here as to what immersers shouldnbe running and when? Whenninarrived the open vent was running so i drained the heating and this stopped but the system was cold, this would suggest to me that it is morw of a pressure issue than an over heating issue so this have given me the idea that maube the coil has breached and the cold main is backfilling into the coil but the expansion never stopped whenni turned the cold feed off, only when i drained the heating 😑

It seems a little odd to me i dont know if i am missing something simple, how would i resolve an issue with pressure here? The only thing i can think is that it is backfilliing somehow. Any advice on this would be much appreciated,

Thanks as always one and all 👍

The photos aren't great but seem to show signs of serious overheating. I suspect that the immersion heaters have been run with the thermal store drained and the whole thing has got very/dangerously hot. If so, the cylinder and attached wiring may be a write-off.

I'd start by getting in touch with the cylinder manufacturer for installation/commissioning instructions and seek their opinion as to whether it needs replacing.

Sorry, just realised that the first picture was of another cylinder i looked at today. Yeah im going to try giving them a call to see if they can give me more info but i dont think its an overheat issue, cylinder was stone cold when i arrrived and the expansion was still running which is why im thinking it must be backfilling somewhere
