Have a read, and in particular, follow the last two links.

DIY and Retail customers.
We understand that some people prefer to do-it-themselves, but we don’t offer a service for these customers. Our advice is to call in a local skilled tradesman, which will often save you time, stress and money in the long run. Look for local tradesmen on the [DLMURL="http://www.ciphe.org.uk/Consumers/Search_the_Register_of_Plumbers/"]CIPHE website[/DLMURL], the GasSafe register, or by personal recommendation. For work involving oil, use the OFTEC website.
For work involving gas, it is very important for you and your family’s safety, as well as to comply with the law, that you use a GasSafe Registered Engineer. Before considering DIY gas work, we recommend that you check out [DLMURL="http://www.co-gassafety.co.uk/deaths.html"]this site[/DLMURL] before doing anything else. If you still insist on going ahead, our final recommendation is this very helpful and informative site.
