I have invented and been using and testing for the last 2 years a new tool i have been developing that will fit pipes and fittings into all types of walls quickly easily and accurately. It fits back plate elbows accurately spaced inline and the correct depth for tiling or other surface finishes for fixing a bar shower and fits pipes into all types of walls for towel rails or rads. In use this tool has with newly developed fixing methods made the installation of pipes and fittings an easy and low disruption operation.
I would be grateful for any help from anyone who themselves has developed a plumbing product and what steps to take next.

i cant really imagine what the tool is/does that will make a very simple plumbing job any easier than it is at the moment, sorry dont mean to sound negative, but we are very reluctant to spend dosh on any gimmicks.

Sounds to me as if you have two options:

1. Find a patent agent and patent the tool you have developed. You will then need to develop and market it yourself.
2. Discuss with an existing tools firm (e.g Monument or Scottool) what you have, get them to develop / market it and take royalties.

Either approach suggests you need someone with relevant legal experience on your side. Talk to a solicitor and find a (possibly different) solicitor who is experienced in patent law.

Sincerely wish you all the best and hope you make a good deal (and a good deal).

too late for that now as patent rules have been violated by talking and describing it in this thread.
sorry to be negative but thats how it goes, been there.
best bet in any case as said goto tool manu and offer them a dirt cheap licence agreement for it say 10pence per unit. then after 12 months watch all the chinese copies come onto the market. been there too.

know those shed alarms with p.i.r's on them, guess who came up with that idea then went to the origional developer and manufacturer of those womens attack sirens about 20 years ago offering them the design for a new market product based on those with an offer of 10p per unit for the manufacture rights, then got screwed and were every where 12 months later. i will sell the blue prints for £1 if your interested?.
