Can these be bought from anywhere or are they all unique to each makers trv?
If customer has chucked the dust caps is there anything that can be used instead?

Thanks

thanks for the reply. wanted to be able to leave a rad off safely without fear of any temp drops opening the trv up. maybe better off with a flexi pipe with an isolation valve as a overnight precaution?

i`m proberbly worrying about nothing🙂

If I'm leaving rads off overnight I always cap the valve in case someone plays with it anyway.

It is essential to cap of TRV's when removing radiators, for the very reason you indicated. Which is; if the temperature drops, the water will flow, probably all over your customer’s carpet? You should take this seriously and act accordingly. Unless you have a good public liability insurer of course!

please cap off if you are leaving the job, for the pennies 1/2" bsp brass caps cost, you,d be bonkers to risk otherwise, put a 1/2" rubber washer inside cap and bobs your male relative

Cap them off if its for a night or a week peace of mind, i have 2 or 3 of each size available on stock just in case, either for trvs etc etc.

Cheers lads. i shall try and "gather" some caps, but also get some 1/2" brass caps.

Isnt worth the risk, so which ever way , dust cap or not i`ll get it capped.

love the coin idea Leaky but being a trainee, ive forgotten what coins look like 😀
