Twin flue boilers to replace Keston

View the thread, titled "Twin flue boilers to replace Keston" which is posted in Boiler Advice Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hi there,

Quick question to you all please. (I am Gas Safe registered incase anyone is wondering)

I need to replace a Keston (suprise suprise) and really need a boiler with a twin flue similar to that of Keston. The client under my guidance has agreed that she does not want another Keston. I know Viessmann and Baxi do a twin flue option but would like any other suggestions please. oh the current boiler is a Qudos 37, so looking for something with similar KW output.

Appreciate any ideas/advice.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi Shaun, thanks for the reply.

The flue is not that long, from memory the existing run is around 6m (excuding elbow deductions). However the flue penertrates the external wall at 160mm from ground level into a passage, so the new flue will have to be extended from low level vertically and then terminate horizontally. Unfortunately due to British standards the 300mm clearance from the ground level can't be reduced by a plume kit..... To be fair i can probably go for a Worcester/Atag with a 125mm flue but just thought a 50mm mupvc flue would be a neater finish externally....what you reckon!?

Cheers

Ed

Unfortunately can't move the boiler...Which Baxi model Shaun, hard to find info on twin flue gear!

Baxi duo tech

Google baxi duo flue manual should give you the spec

As for Viessmann give Viessmann direct a call

Hi Ed,

How did the install go on this one? I have a Keston C36 that has been giving me grief for many years. I haven't found an installer who has been able to provide me with an option to replace it. They all say I will need to get scafolding, take down half of my ceiling, install several inspection shafts, I've had quotes of over £6K 🙁

All the Best

Sean

Hi Sean,
I put in a worcester 40cdi classic with a 125mm extended high lever horizontal flue. Been working a treat for the last 4-5years with no issues... try Intergas twin flue option.

Good luck with the install.

Cheers
