All,

A quick question if any of you can help? I have a shower mixer valve (not thermostatic) that I believe I causing my shower to drip. I’m happy to replace it but I don’t know what it’s called or if I need to replace to whole shower? Previous mixer valves have been easier to replace but not sure where to start with this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Pete

It’s a heritage exposed valve , actually made by gummers. It is thermostatic by the way, picture three is a wax filled thermostat.

It has plain 15mm pipe out the wall, then nut/olive attachment so for easy replacement you will need a shower that does the same - not a standard bar valve which connects with 3/4” female threads.

Measure the centres and away you go. I have done a similar replacement using a Mira miniduo with extended elbow kit, as the one I was replacing was not standard 150 centres.

Use an olive puller to remove the old nuts/olives.

Could always replace the guts to this shower instead, depends on the overall condition if it’s worth it.
