Urgent Help needed on Xmas Eve!!! Shower has stopped working

Hi all, big problem I need to try and fix on Christmas Eve!!

My Redring Active 3205 electric shower stopped working on Wednesday night. After some investigation, the problem was likely the selonoid valve. Rang Redring on Thursday morning (yesterday), engineer has just left the house after looking at the shower and he is "100% sure the pipe to the shower is frozen".

My house is 4 years old, as far as I can see has plastic piping, all radiators and water supplies (except shower) is working incl. the warm water supplies and water pressure valve reading has stayed at the same value.

The engineer checked the shower filter (clear) and then played about the the nut that connects the shower to the water supply. He eventually completely unscrewed this nut and there was a dribble of water. He said that if the water was flowing correctly, water would be gushing/"flying" out once the valve was completely loosened.

I have another engineer coming out today at some stage to go up into the attic and try and locate the pipe supplying the shower to try and thaw it out in some way if frozen.

Does this scenario sound correct? Any ideas/tips from anyone with regards to my overall problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

It sounds logical and correct. The pipe is no doubt frozen or someone has turned a valve off somewhere that feeds the shower.

If frozen, it needs to be lagged if it is not already and hopefully the guy coming out today will be able to easily remedy the situation.
