Urinal flushing over bowl

Hey I have been to a urinal that is flushing over the bowl, any fix. I have thought of putting a chrome service valve on the 22mm spargde pipe to lower the flow while it's flushing.

I had the same problem, and did exactly what your thinking of. . It worked

It looks to be draining ok, it seems to be the force of it coming down that is pushing it over the rim of the bowl.

I don't think he said it was "backing up" and spilling over, its due to the pressure/ volume of the flush,

it only takes a minor blockage on a urinal for it to come over slightly

If it's spraying over the sides its got the wrong spreader or if it's a slot it may be partially blocked creating greater pressure at the edges.

Use a junior hacksaw blade with the pin out, to clear the slot.

ok thanks I will try this too. Can anyone explain why the infared sensor that has a 30 minute cycle, if some one enters before the 30 minute cycle is up, (the last time it detected someone) it will start a new cycle and not flush?

As snowhead said, always worked for me on blocked spreaders

If it is blocked, all I can say is...."enjoy".

One of the worse jobs! Wear gloves, and wash any tools you use too.

The manager of Williams in Tunbridge Wells told me a horror story about another plumber who unblocked a urinal trap. Wore gloves, but caught some rare and nasty bug from the tools he used. Ended up in an induced coma for two weeks.

I've cleaned em out before, then gone and had a pint in the pub they were located in. No gloves! Silly boy.

Once you smell the stuff that comes out of a blocked urinal waste pipe you will never Forget it, it solidifies in the pipe like Cement haha

Yep, cystalised urine, with the odd pube chucked in and the smell is something else! It's all glamour is plumbing.

I worked on a refinery years ago when I was still at college. Most of the toilet porta cabins on site had 3mtr+ 2" waste runs inside.
Its amazing that a whole 3mtr pipe will be fully blocked. No hole in it what so ever. Just white wee-sludge. And whatever else falls in.....
We'd take the pipe outside carefully, lift it up at one end and pile it into a black bin liner.
Very unusual we ever wore gloves either. It was a job we did every week

As a young apprentice it was a good job to start on as you learnt how to whip all the pipework out and put back together again leak free

Mind you saying that,the urinal pipes in the office blocks seem to block up faster possibly due to the heat drying the urine out faster. Possibly
