Using paste on compression joints

Well, here's an interesting thing. The M.I's the new Magnaclean 2 state to "lubricate compression joints with jointing compound". Can't see the harm in it myself.

probably because the ones on the professional filter always leak without something on them. Put it in the instructions to save the complaints i guess.

But you can use it on everything and the tubs last ages. Must have had my current one 5 years.

Yrs hey. Ok, you have convinced me TB. Jet blue it is. In an ideal world, I will just add a couple of pence to each pipe I use on quote so custard pays for it. And that its multi purpose is a bonus. Out with potable water hawk and hawk white and in with the blue

I always use something on the cheap crap fittings you get nowadays unless I have good quality olives the copper ones are rubbish. I find the screwfix olives used to be good. If you want a guranteed trouble free compression fitting then the only real solution in my view is to buy genuine Yorkshire compression fittings. I have never ever had one leak.
