Hi,

A friend of mine suggested using this forum as he had a problem, which after numerous responses on here, was sorted within hours !!

I have a problem with my boiler. Unfortunately it seems to be an intermittent fault which I'm having trouble trying to rectify.

A few weeks ago the boiler failed to start up showing a fault code of F61 - (gas valve or PCB fault), I reset the boiler and all seemed fine again for about a week when we had the same problem again. This fault become far more frequent showing F61 and now F62 so I decided to replace the PCB myself as another friend of mine advised that this wasn't too hard a job !

After installing the new PCB for some reason the heating wont start at all now...its like the thermostat isn't asking for the heat - the hot water works fine and the wireless thermostat sends the signal to the boiler but unfortunately the boiler doesn't show the radiator icon and no heating cycle starts !! I have turned the thermostat up high but still no luck !

So I have a few questions should anyone be able to help me please :

Firstly, would there be a fault with the original PCB, as when the boiler has been reset everything works fine ?

Secondly, after installing the new PCB do I have to make any alterations to the boiler for it to work ?

If anyone can offer any solutions, help or advice I'd be most appreciative !!????

I'm happy to call a engineer out but just wanted to get some understanding and background advice first !!

Many Thanks in advance

Scott

Hello and welcome. As per the forum rules we do not offer advice for people to carry out diy boiler repairs. You've already had the case off so slapped wrist  what I can tell you is that if it is the PCB then it should be a very quick fix for a GSR engineer.

This plumbing forum will not provide advice to anybody with regards to boiler repairs or any other form of gas plumbing without you first providing us with your Gas Safe Registration number in a thread - for very obvious reasons. If you're not qualified to touch gas, you should stay well clear of trying to!
