hi all, new here so be gentle!
got a vaillant ecotec plus 824 that four months ago developed a leak from the diverter valve.
this fault at the time was still giving me hw and ch.
the valve has since chaged somewhat to only give ch and no hw.
i have replaced the diverter valve with a new one and tried the system
i still got ch and the hw whilst not that hot is getting warm , with only the hot tap on half open, if the tap is fully opened it gets cold.
i noticed on the old diverter valve that there was some brown sludge compacted behind the valve and some residue of sludge in the pipe work leading to the plate heat exchanger. i cleaned this out as there was only a screw driver head full and fitted the new valve.
when i turn the flow valve off to the ch and try the hot water i get a decent ammount of hot water from the taps.
without the flow valve closed i found that the ch was heating at the same time as trying to get hot water.
when i first fired up the boiler after fitting the new diverter valve i got what i thought was a F 15 fault code from which i couldnt find any solutions to, i topped the ch system up a little bit more and this seem to solve that one
im speaking to my vaillant specialist mate in the morning but was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas.
im wondering if theres some crap in the plate exchanger that has dislodged and got in the new valve perhaps, though i am getting some warm water wheresas it was stone cold before.
toying with removing the plate exchanger and flushing it through to see.
any help muchly appreciated
