My van has one of those brackets with the circular padlock securing the rear doors, no side doors. What are your views on getting an alarm system fitted?

Get one fitted ! People dont like to stay around long if theres a loud noise about ! The alarm is more to tell you though ! If an alarm goes off in my road i just turn over and go bk to sleep !

Can't ya get one of those boxes in ya van that you can padlock in at night it's just like more of a problem for the lad that breaks in at least if they do get in they won't get yer expensive tools

My vans alarmed, I had it broken into right outside my house. Saved my bacon, wouldn't be without one. I sleep easy knowing ill hear it if there's any attempts to get in.

Sorted then, consensus seems to be an alarm system. Booked for next Wednesday and apparently it should give me a discount on my insurance!

Getting one supplied and fitted by a localish company for £220.best bet is to Google car alarms in your area and give them a call. My quotes varied from the one I'm having to £360.

Just make a system like I have where I've wired the van's body up to the battery and it activates/deactivates when I press the key fob each morning. It sits under a lean to each night on my property. So far no one has tested it out but I reckon it would put people off breaking into it.
