Victorian Radiator Fittings

Hi,

We have a radiator to get rid of which was not installed when we moved in to a new house as completely wrong fit. It's identical to the one here

See the two pictures and the problem we have is the fitting.



Note that it's got a screw hole at bottom of the cylinder and the depth of this fitting is only about 1 inch. It only has 1 small hole also to secure the attachment (next photo)



Note this fitting doesn't have a screw hole and doesn't go that far inside the radiator so is in fact sort of wobbly which although would be screwed in I'm not sure it would be enough.

So three questions

1) Is this single screw hole meant to be the only stability
2) I assume if (1) is true then we need to make our own hole in the fitting?
3) Should we be able to make it go deeper than 1 inch for more stability or we have perhaps the wrong fittings although I'd be surprised. The radiator was here when we arrived to the new house.

The two parts you have shown are secured together with a grub screw which locates in the groove in the small piece. I have fitted two of these they are perfectly secure once fitted.
