View the thread, titled "What does a boiler release hourly/daily?" which is posted in Boiler Advice Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hi I had my boiler condemned yesterday and I can't remember what the workman said and I'm curious. He said a boiler releases 100 (of something) per hour/day (I forget which one) and this boiler was releasing 5000-7000 per hour/day.
The brand is Potterton if that helps? Thanks.

Perhaps he was referring to the amount of CO (carbon monoxide) in the flue gas which is measured in ppm (parts per million). This is not a figure that is measured 'per/hour' or 'per/day'.

If the boiler was condemned they would normally have left a written report/form giving the reason.

Why not just call him and ask for clarification?

Thanks for replying.
I wanted to try to remember as myself and kids have been getting headaches and lethargy over the past 4/5 months. This past month one child has now added chest pains, dizziness each morning and is completely drained with doctors unable to pinpoint the problem.
I've had workmen out in this period who said the boiler had been fixed but the problems with it remained exactly the same so I'm trying to figure out if the boiler had anything to do with it.
I did contact the company but they were staying very vague on the phone and on the form it states "FGA readings out of tolerances". I remember he said there was a boiler leak.

Have a co blood test done asap and don’t use the boiler
I did call the doctors yesterday to explain my suspicions. Receptionist told me they could book in at the hospital for the blood tests but as the threat was now gone it maybe wasn't necessary. I peservered and was meant to get a call back which never came. From googling I'm not sure how long it stays in the system though but I will call back Monday.
Thanks for replying and I definitely won't use the boiler. It is off now and we are waiting for a new one.
