What to test with a multimeter?

ive got the john reginald fault find book, as mentioned by tamz, cost me £25 off amazon and it was well worth it, its got very detailed discriptions of components and how they work and how to fault find them using a multimeter. i do installs so im not to good at fault finding (only basics, expansin vessel/pumps etc). when i get a hour at home i take my own boiler apart and go through the book practicing with my multimeter

I wonder if there is more money to be made writing books on how to do it than actually doing it.........mmmm i'm not getting any younger :lol:

mr combi fault finding dvd helped me alot, had to watch it around 5 times or maybe more though for it to sink in !
