had a referred customer contact me regarding servicing her boiler.apparently BG had fitted her a new wb/badged bg boiler last year.she had it serviced this year and was advised she should take out extended cover as the boiler was only covered for 12 months,this is a worcester boiler i thought they had a 5 year parts and labour warranty subject to t&cs.whats the crack?

the i junior range have a standard 2yr warranty and the si cdi and ri have 5yrs standard warranty if fitted before 30th of june 2013

bg will only warranty their installs for a yr then your homecare scam covers the ensuing period. no wb on the cover no wb cover, as i understand this wonderful scam seems to work

Unless fitted by BG. Their warranty is only 1 year, if you want any more than that you have to pay for homecare. Great deal if you ask me

Just another scam the gullible easily fall for. How many actually pay any attention to the fact they get a 1 year warranty on the work then pay the subscription. Pay over the odds and then pay again. Clever stuff if you can get it.

Don't forget they charge on average double for the boiler and install, and get the boiler at half our price, due to warranty being stripped out! Even bigger margins!
Not everyone is so stupid I've explained that go at least 3 customers who have then cancelled there cover and I've fitted the replacement
when you explain you can fit a boiler with 5 year warrantee to a BG customer so they wont need to pay £250 plus a year for the homecare plan they do seem to get a light bulb moment and realise a min saving of £800-1000 is on the cards.
