Had this recently and it was the water meter in the street causing the noise throughout whole house. (water meter was in the street).

Funny you say that!! I had to go to hospital for a week and have come back and not had a problem since!!! Thank God!

My advice employ a plumber to carry out some maintenance on those valves they need to be working in case of emergencies and give your plumbing pipework a check also . Kop
