Just putting a list together for some tools that I don't have.

Who owns a multi cutter? Thinking about getting one.

Might come in handy when tiles need a little bit cutting out, yesterday I had to cut a section out of a crappy ply wall and the only way I could do it was with hole cutters and jr hack saw. Might have been better with a multi cutter.

Worth getting?

Any recommendations?

They are excellent. Very usefull for those odd jobs where no other tool will do. I have a bosch which is solid but it is part of the 10.8 volt battery system and the batteries just are not man enough to get any sensible use out of a single charge. I would get a mains powered one or perhaps an 18 volt battery version but I have not used an 18 volt batt one myself.

Essential bit of kit. blades are expensive! buy them on ebay for a better price got my last set in aldi. great for removing floor boards, grout, back of kitchen units, skirting boards etc etc etc. battery powered ones are rubbish even 18v ones dont last long. get a 240v

Fantastic bit of kit. Mine gets used pretty much daily, have a cheap 240v einhell one, had it 5 years with no bother. I think there around the £50 mark.

for general use buy the cheap wood blades, as even the expensive ones don't lie hitting metal!

Use my makita one all the time, although i bought the 18v one and its great but ended up buying a makita 240v one aswell for the extra juice, but its worth while what ever one you buy --- spend a bit extra on fien blades as brilliant and cheapos go blunt too easy, great for cutting plastics, wood , plasterboard basically anythin,,,

I have the Bosch 10.6v, bought about 2 years ago to install inspection panels. Very nice piece of kit with sharp blades.

When the time comes to replace will def be a 240 v in its place, Im sure more life will be gained from worn blades using 240v.

What blades do you use for chasing out grout? I could do with one!

PS, Ash, most versatile power tool I own! Got the Makita 240V, brilliant bit of kit.

Got a 230v Bosch, lent it to a window fitter last week & nearly had to fight him to get it back!! Got mine free from Screwfix out of 'insentive month' Brucey-bonus
but would happily paid the ton for it if I knew then what I know now.

Any of my fellow forum posters who own 240 volt versions of this tool also have the quick change blade mechanism? I am looking for a new 240 volt but I would like this feature.

FEIN 72363650243 Supercut FSC2.0Q 230v and Case QUICKIN Version

The Fein Supercut, proper amazing tool. Pricey but more than worth the cash for the time it saves. The Multimaster is just as good for cutting open stud walls etc but the Supercut wins hands down cutting through floorboards/chipboard etc.

Buy the 3rd party blades off Ebay. Shark blades I think they are called. No need to buy the rip-off Fein ones at all.
