Hi all, desperately looking for advice. I'm a private renter, not a plumber, but usually good at fixing basic things. We convinced our landlord to fit a new boiler last winter and when fitted a wireless thermostat was put in (previous system used only TRVs and timer).
Since then we've had an issue where sometimes the thermostat turns the boiler on but fails to turn it off when it reaches set temperature, and sometimes the heating just comes on seemingly randomly when the thermostat is not calling for heat.
In both situations if I turn the thermostat up so it starts demanding heat again, and then turn it back down the burner switches off.
Have tried moving thermostat to different locations in case it was a signal issue but that hasn't worked.
It's driving us insane, it's only a small one bed flat so if heating is on even a small amount more than needed it gets boiling in here! It means I can't have timer set for when we're asleep or when we're out, and when it's on I have to constantly be on the look out for when I may need to turn it off manually.
Landlord is an idiot so kicks things up when he tries to fix them. Help please! Is there a simple fix or if not what should I say is likely wrong to landlords plumber?
Thanks
