REDSAW

weird one!.

went today to fix a pipe to a rad that was cut by a contractor who i do work for.
took a look at this boiler ready to drain down and the first thing i notice is the condense pipe aiming into a bucket below the boiler. the bucket was bone dry and not seen 'moisture' for god knows how long!. all the pipe entries to outside were drilled with a 40mm core and sealed by carrier bags shoved into the holes!. the customer also says she cannot get any hot water..

with this in mind, the lads chopped the rad pipe 2 hours before i got there yet the boiler pressure still read 1 bar!.
i opened up the doc to drop some pressure out as the pipes were on down droppers, the reading still read 1 bar?.

after just chopping the pipe out and repairing it, i went back to the boiler turned it on and ran the hot tap...nothing!, didnt fire up at all reading 1 bar..there was a clicking/clonking coming out of the boiler like the pump was stuck or limping.

as i was not there to work with the boiler we left as was:wacko: because it looked a tinoworms and did not have permission of the house owner to go tinkering (or capping off) now the contract director has asked me on behalf of the customer to fault n rectify the problems. i tried my best to get out of it but failed so calling around in the morning.

what do you think can cause the issues mentioned as i dont want to start by scratching my head.lol?

Or the tube feeding gauge is blocked, if 24 I junior, they don't condense in how water mode, only CH pal

by the look of it it has not condensed since it was installed!! by some cheap chucker in.

Bucket was probably emptied and boiler not used before contractors went through the pipe.

Banging is probably due to lack of pressure or may be a tell tale sign that the system is badly slugged, which would also cause the pressure gauge to give a false reading.
