Evening all,

I've spent a lot of time working in attics recently and have had a terrible time with fibre glass insulation getting into my clothes and causing irritation. I've washed one jacket three times and it still itches. Does anyone have any advice on what to wear? I always wear a mask even though it causes my glasses to fog up. I've been asked by a customer to insulate two large attics and I'm currently undecided - I don't know if I can face the itching.

Thanks Chris,

I'll give these a try - they're a third of the price of the last disposables I bought.

You may find that you have become hyper sensitive to fibreglass. This can happen to anyone who is constantly exposed to any product, even bodywash, deodorant and shampoo. Once the body reacts to a substance the only real way to deal with it is avoid contact with that substance. For example after 40 years of using epoxy resins to skin surfboards with no issue, one day I got a nose bleed when I was sanding with a normal HEP mask. Now I need to use a full respirator to totally eliminate the dust. You would probably be better off with a NBC suit rather than a boiler suit. Lol
