Would like to understand how my Grant Oil Combi boiler is hooked up to the pipes in the house

Hello, bit of a noob question but would someone be able to help me to understand the pipes coming off our boiler. It's a Grant oil combi boiler, and where the pipes come in is in a room at the front of the house. I am about to box them in but I really wanted to understand what the various pipes supply.

There's the larger 22mm pipes which go upstairs ( I assume to the bathroom) and the smaller 15mm pipes that I'm guessing is the rads/heating? The stopcock I can at least understand 😀 I'm not sure why those two pipes break off to the left, I had assumed they were rads as well but I'm really not sure.

I should mention that there used to be an old oil boiler inside the house (hence the undecorated wall) but we had a new one fitted recently and it was moved outside. So the pipework was from that install and modified by the plumber/engineer.

Just don't box in the Magna clean.

As above, the Magnaclean filter needs to be cleaned out periodically, so you, or the boiler service man, need to be able to access it and have room to shut the valves, undo the lid and pull the innards up and out, which are the height of the black casing - looks like it will hit the boxing in above it!

The magnaclean is there to take the metallic magnetite residue (from the radiators) out of the central heating water. That means your 22mm pipes are the heating circuit. The 15mm pair going off to the left are presumably H&C for a sink or basin somewhere?
I can't quite see where the 15mm pipe from the stopcock goes, but if that is the way of turning off your mains supply in the house, that needs to be easily accessible too!

thanks @gmartine @Basher - Understood about the Magnaclean and stopcock, I was planning to put a kind of wooden shroud over it that can be completely removed as a piece when you need to get to this area ( although I thought a small access panel for the stopcock might be a good idea)

If you don't think that 15mm pair are anything to do with the heating, then they must be the H&C feed from a cupboard in the room next to this one. Previous owner put a washing machine (of all things!) into a cupboard in the lounge. This is no longer the case, and those pipes are capped. But it would be good to remove them as it will make the area to box off much smaller.

I was worried that they might be something to do with the rad right next to them.

Actually I'd forgotten the trap was still in there as we just use it as a storage cupboard

Loads of room in a Grant external combi to fit filter at back of boiler.
Then all serviceing outside!

I think the 15mm pipes seem to be H & C - you could check back at where they come from the boiler by running a hot tap and see if one gets hot!
There's a hazard in having 'dead legs' on the cold supply, in that bugs can grow in the stagnant water and potentially come out of the tap. There's WRAS guidance on not having more than 30mm stub of pipe on a stopped-off 15mm tee.
So there's more than an aesthetic reason for removing the redundant pipes!

We obviously had this fitted by a plumbing and heating engineer, but we weren't given this as an option. I will contact the boiler service company we use (as they also fit these) and ask their advice.
