Wrong vessel

Guys, your thoughts please .

went to service an unvented on Wednesday, oh dear , found a red heating vessel on system.

explained to the customer the problem, she totaly understood and said please comeback and fit the correct one.

when changing the vessel, I am tempted to drain and flush out the cylinder/pipework , strangely she doesnt see the point, as she has lived there for the last few months and obviously didnt know the potential problem .
what do you think

hmm, ive never seen this but would have thought that because the water isnt recirculated that the risk is faily minimal and just running all the taps or emptying the cyclinder would do the trick..
that said, someone will no doubt tell me im wrong any minute 😉

Can get some red potable vessels.
I'd look at the corrosion on the connection and take it from there.

Also you can usually tell what type of bladder is in it from the fittings at the connection. Have also come across occasional red potables, and blues, and whites...

I once spoke to an agent who supplied all types and sizes of expansion vessels to merchants.
They told me ignore the colour, - it is the code number on the vessel that tells what type it is. Potable can be blue, red or white. Some have a large flange bolted on to them, others don't.
