I’m planning to drain down my system to replace the 3 way valve which has been buzzing away for months and occasionally sticking.
While I’ve got the radiators drained I was hoping to also swap out a TRV which has been unreliable since it was first fitted a few years ago. All the other TRVs are...
Hello,
10mm copper heating pipes in loft were lagged with felt. Have extended the pipes with plastic. I I an assuming that plastic 10mm pipe in loft space should be lagged as it can still freeze. Do I just use felt wrap? What do you guys do with plastic 10mm heating pipes in loftspace? Thanks...
Hi,
Looking for advice on easiest way to move a radiator (only needs to move 10-15cm to the left). I have a unvented indirect cyclinder, fed from a standard boiler. All my pipework runs down from the loft (its a bungalow), through the walls and each radiator has a centrally located outlet on...
I've bought a new chrome towel radiator as the old one is all rusty.
I also bought new angled (standard) valves, 1/2" X 15mm as they too are old and rusty.
But when I look at what comes out of the wall, it's clearly not 15mm pipe, looks more like 10mm (plastic).
How have they gone from 15mm...
Hi,
My radiator had a leak on stem elbow which is over 20 years old. To stop leak I cut the pipe and put push fit stopper.
i bought 10mm angled radiator valve with 10mm stem elbow. If I put olive thatcomes with valve on stem elbow and tight the valve, the elbow is very loose and comes out of...
Hi, I bought a new mixer shower. Was hoping to just swap the old bar for the new... never that easy though. The original pipes are only projecting past the tiles roughly 25mm. They are those z type fittings to adjust to 150mm centre. I reckon if I can extend these by 10mm I can get enough thread...
I’m considering my options for moving (JG) pipework from an inaccessible place whilst the floor is up. One option might be to use 2 x JG 4-port manifolds, mounted in a much more convenient location. But, this would mean adding 2 - 3 metres to the 10mm tails (off flow and return) and i’m not sure...
Hi. I'm looking to run a rad supply using 10mm plastic-coated copper pipe and, as it'll be under a laminate floor, to use as few actual fittings as possible. How tight a radius can it be bent without using a pipe bending tool or former - ie hand-bend?
This is standard pipe, 0.7mm wall thickness...
Hi all,
My first post and many thanks in advance for any help offered. I am currently upgrading my CH system by fitting Honeywell eco home Wi-Fi enabled thermostatic valves to my radiators. I have completed about 10 or so without any problems other than replacing some of the existing valve...
I have a friend who wants a radiator adding to his system in the garage. His proposing teeing off the 10mm pipe drops to the rad. Behind the garage wall in the kitchen. How big will this be heat wise? It's a new build so all piped from a central manifold in 10mm and can't really get to it to...
Has anyone got any advise on this please.
Can I use a compression reducer to connect a 15mm TRV to a 10mm pex pipe?
Not sure if the compression would hold onto the pex pipe.
Or do I have to go from TRV > copper > pex.
Thanks,
Mark
I currently have a central heating system with 15 mm pipework running up through the floorboards to the radiators.
I would like to convert the 15 mm pipe to 10 mm pipe underneath each radiator and run the 10 mm pipe up the wall behind the radiator. Basically so I don’t see pipework coming up...
As per the attached pic, Im planning to run two radiator pipes inside a chase that ivew made in a partition wall so that the pipe work will all be hidden once ive finished the bathroom.
The old pipe work is 10mm microbore with 15mm adapters and a short section of 15mm where the pipes came out...
Does anyone have any information on how many BTU 10mm plastic can carry?
Thought there might have been a chart or graph to show length of pipe vs BTU it can carry but im struggling to find anything. Maybe because its depends on the pump?
Its for HEP20 pipe and there is nothing in their...
Hi,
I recently purchased a cottage type bungalow and currently there is no central heating in the house only electric storage heaters.
I am in the process of removing all the storage heaters and installing the new central heating.
All the floors in the house are cement and all the exterior...
Hi. I was hoping to change a radiator in my sitting room for a significantly larger one, but having read a few bits and pieces on the web, I'm not sure whether it is feasible. The existing radiator is a double panel, double fin radiator measuring about 1200 long by about 700 high and is fed by...
Hi,
I am having some issues with my radiator heat up times on two of my radiators and I am assuming that it is a flow rate issue or something along those lines.
I have a 4 bed (large) old semi-detached house.
11 Radiators
Worcester 36CDi Compact Combi-Boiler
All my rads end up being supplied...
I concentrate on boiler and heating repair but I'm doing a first fix on a kitchen to keep a landlord sweet. The kitchen is a total rip-out and is back to bare bricks. I'm fitting a new combi boiler. Just want someone to confirm if it's ok to run the hot & cold in 10mm plastic to the kitchen...
Hi,
A customer wants cast iron style rads throughout, 9 or 10 in total but currently has 10mm pipe .
Is there any problems installing this type of rad on mircobore? I'm worried about the water content being much higher and it not circulating?
Anyone else installed these on mircobore?
Cheers
