You can fit hobs on cooker hoses manufacturer instructions must say it’s acceptable and the install meets the spec

I wish they hadn’t gone down that route as some manufacturers do and some manufacturers don’t

Are the clearances above and to the back and side only for flammable materials? What about a distance at the front of the work top?

What have you got that’s non flammable?

Depends what the MIs says. Ive got a Belling in my house that says it can be installed on a flexible connection. I still installed rigid pipework though.
